Argent Fox Music was established in 1987 by Dan Speer and David Font under the name of Silver Fox Armory creating folk harps for historical reenactors.  In 1990, it became Argent Fox Music and expanded its line of instruments under Dan Speer and several apprentices.  Today, our instruments are sold at various music stores, Renaissance Fairs, historical reenactments events, and harp conferences.

Argent Fox Music's goal is to make fine handcrafted musical instruments at affordable prices.  We individually hand make each instrument with quality and durability in mind, so you won't be afraid to take them with you wherever you may travel.  We are so confident in our work that each of our instruments comes with a 5 year warranty on all materials and craftsmanship.  And since we would never sell an instrument which we would not be proud to own, all our instruments have a trade-in value on all our other instruments.  So, if you are wanting to trade-up to something larger or would like to change instruments all together, your present instrument's price will be applied tot he purchase of your new instrument.

CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS...

The standard soundboxes on our harps are a traditional flatback design, with a Finnish Birch laminate soundboard.  The soundboxes, necks, and pillars are available in a variety of woods, such as Beech, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Hard Maple, Sycamore, Coffeenut, Figured Maple, Mahogany, Bubinga, Pudouk, Purple Heart, and Lacewood.  Other woods are available upon request.  The finish used on our instruments is a hand-rubbed oil finish to bring out the natural grain and color of the wood.

Staved-back soundboxes and solid Sitka Spruce soundboards are available at an additional cost.  Special orders for woodburning, carving, staining, and piercework are also welcome.
